Abstract: The photocatalytic H2 production from water with TiO2 can be noticeably enhanced by the presence of both dense phase CO2 and a surfactant of sodium dodecyl sulfate, being larger by more than one order of magnitude than that from water with TiO2 alone. The surface of TiO2 may be modified by the accumulation of CO2 molecules assisted by the TiO2- and CO2-philic surfactant, changing its photocatalytic activity.
