Ground-based active remote sensing is useful for observing small-scale processes of clouds because of its high temporal and range resolution. Recently, a wind profiler radar(WPR)and a cloud profiling radar/lidar have been used for measuring vertical wind and clouds simultaneously. In this report, we will show that simultaneous measurements of vertical wind and cloud droplets using WPR and cloud-sensing equipment greatly contribute to clarifying fine-scale dynamical processes within clouds and to improving accuracy of retrieved cloud microphysical properties.
