| Abstract: | 本研究では，心的視覚イメージの鮮明度と残像の持続時間の関係を調べた。イメージの鮮明度はVVIQ日本語版で測定した。VVIQの半数の項目はイメージを鮮明化する描画条件のもとで，残りはイメージを不鮮明化するスター条件のもとで実施された。 VVIQの評定値は，小さいほどイメージが鮮明であることを表す。実験の結果，描画条件の評定値の合計と残像の持続時間の間に，有意な正の相関が検出された。これは，イメージが鮮明なほど，残像の持続時間が短いという関係性を意味する。この結果は，残効が強いほどイメージの鮮明度は低下しやすい，または，イメージが鮮明であるほど残効は消失しやすいという傾向のいずれか，あるいは両方があることを示唆する。 | | We investigated relationships between vividness of visual mental images and durations of after-images. The vividness was measured by the Japanese version of VVIQ. Half of the items on VVIQ were answered under the Drawing condition. The others were answered under the Star condition. Smaller ratings of VVIQ indicate more vivid images. The results showed significant correlation between the totals of the ratings on Drawing condition and durations of after-images. The results suggest two possibilities stated below. 1: One could generate only vague visual images when one’s after-effects were robust. 2: One’s after-effects were easy to decay when one could generate vivid images. |
