Abstract: Diamond-anvil cells combined with a video image processing system provide a simple tool for measuring pressure–volume relations of small solid samples under high pressure. The feasibility of the technique is demonstrated for glassy Se and crystalline InSb. Accuracy evaluated for linear-scale measurements is approximately ±0.5%.
