Abstract:	A selective introduction of a fluorine atom into the α-position of β-dicarbonyl compounds was achieved using p-iodotoluene difluoride. The reaction proceeded under mild conditions and monofluorination of β-ketoesters, ketoamides, and diketones selectively took place.
