Abstract: Cation radicals, generated from α-stannyl sulfides by the photoinduced single electron transfer, cleave into α-alkylthio radical intermediates with the elimination of the stannyl group. The α-alkylthio radicals thus formed are utilized for carbon-carbon bond forming reactions.
