Abstract: Our recent work on the template synthesis of carbon-based uniform nanoporous materials and their applications for energy storage is summarized. It is demonstrated that the unique nanostructure prepared by the template technique has many benefits. The materials the authors deal with in this work are zeolite-templated carbon and carbon-coated anodic aluminum oxide. These materials are not only promising candidates for energy storage applications, but also very useful model materials for understanding fundamental phenomena.
