| Abstract: | 先行研究によれば，性的解放は歌垣に付随する現象であるとされている。しかし，歌垣
は日本でも中国でも「世俗の縁が切れる場」（網野善彦）であり，「解放」という拘束を前提と
する表現が適切と言えるかは疑問である。本研究は，日本と中国の文献及び中国における現地
調査の資料に依拠しつつ，歌垣と祭祀行事の関係の多様性を明らかにし，歌垣は性的解放の場で
あったという従来の通説的解釈を再検討する。 | | The practice of Utagaki , or a ritual peasant gathering, sometimes strongly associated with free sex activity, has attracted much academic attention and inspired such modern social interpretations as ‘liberation from restraint'. The Utagaki has been basically considered as a festive ritual, an integral part of the centuries-old traditional festive act of praying to gods and spirits for a good harvest. However, the Utagaki happened not only at the time of festive rituals but also in daily life. The confusion between ritual and Utagaki is one cause of the misunderstanding of liberation from restraint'. Furthermore, it is only natural that the same practice exists in other parts of Asia, especially in China. A comparative study of Utagaki practices in both countries would show Japanese Utagaki in a new perspective. |
