| Abstract: | さわる展示を中心に博物館の情報を視覚障害者に届けることを目的とし、さわる展示を紹介する点字冊子の作成を、国立科学博物館において行った。まず、①視覚障害教育の文献調査、②館内のさわる展示の調査、③点字冊子についての調査を行い、空間と時間の全体像を把握することの重要性や、さわる展示だけでなく展示室の全体像がつかめる情報の重要性、すべての展示項目リストを記した点字冊子で事前配布する方法の有用性などの結果が得られた。そこで、博物館の展示のメッセージや、さわる展示など体験できる展示すべてについての紹介を中心に据えた『国立科学博物館 上野本館見学ガイド』と、「どこに何の展示項目があるのか」が伝わることを目的とし、すべての展示項目を展示室ごとに記載した『国立科学博物館 常設展示項目リスト』の、2 種類の点字冊子を、どちらも点字と墨字を併記して作成した。完成した冊子を、視覚に障害のある人とない人が共に手にとり、歩く中で、どのような対話が生まれ、どのような時間が博物館の内外で紡ぎだされるのかを今後探究していくことの重要性も見いだされた。 | | We created a Braille booklet to introduce the information of the National Museum of Nature and Science to the visually impaired, with a focus on the touchable exhibits. First, we surveyed literature on education for the visually impaired, secondly, exhibits in the museum, and thirdly, Braille booklets. The results showed the importance of grasping the whole picture of space and time, the importance of information to get a complete picture of the exhibition room as well as the touchable exhibits, and the benefit of listing all exhibit items in Braille and distributing the information in Braille booklets in advance. We made “Ueno Honkan Visitors’ Guide of the National Museum of Nature and Science”, which focused on the message of the museum’s exhibits and an introduction to all of the exhibits that visitors can experience hands-on, such as the Touching Exhibit, and “List of permanent exhibit items of the National Museum of Nature and Science”, in which all exhibit corners are listed by room. Both were created with Braille and printed characters. It was also found important to explore how people with and without visual impairments using the booklets converse with each other, and how they spend time together inside and outside the museum. |
