| Abstract: | 本稿は，1960年代から80年代までのアメリカのパブリック・アートの具体
的事例の検討をもとに，芸術の公共性についての一見解を得ることを目的と
する。この時期のパブリック・アート事例としてとりわけ象徴的なのは，1981
年にニューヨークに設置されたリチャード・セラによる彫刻作品『傾いた弧』
である。本作品をめぐり撤去論争が巻き起こり，その後の連邦政府によるパ
ブリック・アート政策に影響を与えた。本稿ではこの論争に注目し，一般市
民と作品との関わりの観点から，芸術の公共性について分析・考察を行う。 |
