| The results of a survey of university students who had decided tentatively on employers for after graduation, with a focus on the effects of internships or part-time jobs on ascertaining the abilities of students and the actual circumstances of prospective employers, showed that (i) while many university students had experience with internships or part-time jobs, and about 30% of those with internship experience planned to be employed by the employers where they interned, only 5% of those with part-time-job experience planned to be employed by the employers where they worked part-time; (ii) relatively higher proportions of students who had decided tentatively to work with the employers where they interned were attending universities in provincial regions or planned to work at large enterprises; and, (iii) relatively higher proportions of students who had decided tentatively to work with the employers where they had worked part-time were males or planned to work in the wholesale or retail fields. |
