| Abstract: | 本稿では、2019年開催のワークショップ”Rage, Hope, and Community（怒り、希望とコミュニティ）”の参与観察をもとに、ハイランダーセンターにおける地域リーダー育成のためのワークショップの展開とそこでの地域リーダーたちの学びについて論じるとともに、ハイランダーセンターが90年近くにわたり脈々とコミュニティ教育の火を絶やさずに、力強く活動の輪を広げている理由は何かを探る糸口としたい。
第一節では、ハイランダーセンターの設立の経緯と概要を紹介するとともに、ワークショップ開催が迫る中で突然の放火に見舞われたハイランダーセンターの被る試練の小史を振り返る。第二節では、2019年5月から6月にかけて開催されたワークショップ“Rage, Hope, and Community”の展開について、筆者の参与観察をもとに分析する。続く第三節において、ハイランダーセンターのワークショップの特徴を明らかにし、最後に、幾多の試練にみまわれながらもハイランダーの学びと実践が今日まで連綿と続いてきた秘密は何かを探って、まとめとしたい。 |
