Abstract: | 氷の表面が化学反応の場として重要であることが知られている.したがって,氷表面を微視的に観
察して,さらにその上に吸着する個々の原子分子を可視化する研究が求められている.原子間力顕微
鏡(AFM)は,それを実現するポテンシャルを有している.超高真空環境で動作する高分解能AFM
は,広く用いられている大気中AFM と異なる点が多くある.本稿では,原子分解能を有するAFM
の原理と装置について説明し,試料表面の観察例をいくつか示した後,金属基板に低被覆率で水分子
を吸着して形成される水分子ネットワークのイメージングの結果を示す.そして,この技術を用いて
氷表面を調べる展望について述べる. | AFM is a powerful tool for investigating various sample surfaces with atomic resolution. Here, the principles and
instruments used in AFM are described. After showing a number of sample AFM images, AFM images of water
networks are shown and discussed. Finally, the prospects for future works on ice surfaces using our AFM techniques
are discussed. |
